This is a memory at the beach. I saw the beautiful horizon with the sun’s glare towards me. I saw the clear ocean, the beautiful sands, and the trees. I felt the ocean breeze and I can hear the small waves coming to shore. This is the memory I have that is sacred to me in the year of 2020.

When COVID hit it turned our lives upside down. All of a sudden we found ourselves living in a world of isolation. It was hard for my sisters and I to understand what was going on, but it was scary. Every time we turned on the tv people seemed panicked and there was talk about the number of people very sick and dying. For a while every day felt the same and no one really knew what was going to happen. Our family tried to stay positive even though this terrible pandemic was happening. One day in April, we decided to get a COVID puppy named Levi. Levi has been one of the brightest spots of our COVID experience! This is a drawing of a picture of me and my sisters with Levi in the car the day our family picked him up to bring him home…one of my best memories of 2020!

One of my favorite memories from 2020 was stargazing with my family. We lugged out the telescope on multiple occasions and stared up at the wonders above. On one night, midway through the lockdown, we brought a spotting scope out to the mountains so we could get away from the light pollution. On that night I saw the rings of Saturn and the moons of Jupiter for the first time. It was truly magical. We also watched a famous meteor shower that evening.

I drew this drawing because it represents one of many movie nights I had with my family during the pandemic. We sit on the table cloth on the living room floor and watch a movie as a family. It is special for me because I love spending time with my family and getting to enjoy all our favorite movies

This is my favorite memory because we got our dog, Cooper, on Christmas. It was the most exciting thing that came out of 2020.

The meaning behind this was my first time trying boba with my uncle. When we drank the boba, it was the best thing we ever had. It started becoming an Uncle and Niece tradition. When we are together, ne now get boba.
