Entry 1
Entry Description:
Me, my family, friends, and neighborhood love going to the beach together. Without my community I wouldn’t have a great time. What community means to me is spending time with each other and I hope you see that in my painting.
Entry 2
Entry Description:
My art teacher taught me how to draw realistic faces. I always wanted to draw people, but I never knew how until now. I LOVE to draw, and like I mentioned before, I couldn’t. When my art teacher told me where to put body parts, and how to shade, I was amazed at what I could do. I could really see the resemblance between me and my self-portrait. I really appreciate how much she helped me! Thank you for pushing me, if you didn’t then I never would’ve been able to see what I can do!
Entry 3
Entry Description:
This artwork is everything I love about Los Alamitos, the diversity, the schools, but the thing I love most about Los Al is the people. From the bikers to the teachers, I can’t find a person I don’t enjoy.
HIGH SCHOOL DIVISION
Entry 4
Entry Description:
Los Al High School is very strong in the four A’s: athletics, academics, activities, and the arts. I wanted to highlight all four of those categories in my drawing since that is what makes Los Al a unique and fun school to go to. I had to include the mascot, a griffin, as the main point. Each different small drawing on the outside helps emphasize all 4 A’s and highlights the fun things you can get involved in. Since Los Al provides all these activities, everyday of school is a new adventure.
Entry 5
Entry Description:
My sense of community is the friends I talk to on discord and my little kind bird, Melon. Everyday, we do art together. I talk to my friends for inspiration and Melon likes to sit on my shoulder as I draw.
Entry 6
Entry Description:
Community during the pandemic means to me, an online network of friends, school, and family. I formed an online gaming group. I attend school online. I follow online workouts. And we even had a Zoom family online Christmas party. My virtual online community has supported me throughout the pandemic. Through my computer screen, I have made lifelong friends.
